Thousands of Ways to Use Waterproof Paper

In our last post post, I showed you a unique application of our Relyco REVLAR™ waterproof paper, and this got me thinking about all the different ways our customers are using it. I am constantly amazed at the applications our customers come up with for REVLAR. Sure, everyone knows it can be used for restaurant and bar menus, signage and the like, but here are a few recent applications from our customers to get the creative juices flowing:
- A Swim Club purchases REVLAR ID cards to use as waterproof pre-paid concession stand cards for swimmers who get hungry in between events during meets. Carrying cash or a wallet around isn’t practical wearing a swimsuit and being in and out of the pool all day - so they are issued easily laser-printed ID cards with a lanyard that hangs around their neck.
- The U.S. Department of Defense is going through the process of replacing their training and field manuals using Relyco’s REVLAR “indestructible” paper. Because REVLAR stands up to more abuse than any other laser-printable substrate on the market, it’s perfect for our boys in uniform around the world. They even gave it the thumbs-up during the tank test. Yep – they run it over with a tank just to see if it will hold up – and it does!
- Dog & Kennel Clubs around the country are happily using REVLAR for business size cards with the AKC rally obedience signs printed on the front and instructions on the back. Apparently, quick access to these doggy “do’s and don’ts” is extremely important when showing, and the REVLAR cards are easily customized and printed – while also being extremely durable during what can be a messy dog showing season.
- Public Utility Districts are finding hundreds of uses for REVLAR, deploying it in the field for manuals and workgroup printouts at water/hyrdo and power plants. They also use the REVLAR with adhesive backing for quick signage that doesn’t tear, streak, fade or melt.
If you haven’t tried REVLAR, let us know and we can send you some samples. If you are using it, we’d love to hear your story. Email me!
Relyco REVLAR Waterproof Paper Application of the Month

Relyco’s REVLAR waterproof paper is “virtually indestructible.” Each month, we’ll share a unique application that shows you how the paper can go right from your laser printer and into the harshest of environments.
Used as plant ID signage at the University of Florida’s Horticultural Research Center, REVLAR has been out in the heat, humidity, rain and wind for months – without so much as a blemish. “Gone are the days of tedious and costly lamination, or running around putting plastic baggies over them!,”
