Synthetic Laser Paper Cost Comparison vs. Laminated Paper

In addition to being able to withstand extreme physical and environmental abuse, one of the major advantages of REVLAR™
Synthetic Paper is that its durability is not dependent on lamination.  Often times, “normal” paper products are laminated in an attempt to achieve the same characteristics that REVLAR™ offers as a stand-alone product.  In addition to the fact that laminating requires an additional, time-consuming step in the process after laser printing has been completed, lamination can also peel, bubble or crease, often compromising the clean, professional look desired, and allowing unwanted moisture to penetrate and damage the finished piece.

REVLAR™ is clearly the more durable, waterproof, tearproof product, and it is also much faster than laminating, but for many users – especially those with applications where lamination is being considered more for the look and feel of it rather than the durability - the final decision often comes down to the cost of laminating vs. the cost of using REVLAR™ instead.  Below is a cost comparison that illustrates that REVLAR™, in addition to being the more durable, user-friendly product, is also cost-effective.

3 Cost of Lamination Film per unit from Corporate Express
4 Labor cost per unit assuming numbers provided by Supplier

 Other Factors
Cost of Laminating machine and maintenance
Customer will have to wait several hours to allow fuser oil to evaporate before they could laminate.

It is important to note that the above comparison does NOT take into account the cost of purchasing and maintaining laminating equipment, which further enhances the argument for choosing REVLAR™ over laminated paper products.
