Dover Thanksgiving Celebration Brings Together Hundreds of People

The Dover Thanksgiving Celebration Committee held its ninth annual Thanksgiving Celebration on Wednesday, November 22nd at Blue Latitudes Restaurant. More than 300 Dover residents who might not otherwise enjoy a traditional holiday meal were treated to a Thanksgiving dinner and a Visa gift card. Guests enjoyed music from Kathy Fink & Friends during consecutive seatings at 11:00am, 12:00pm and 1:00pm.

Nine years ago, Blue Latitudes Restaurant and Relyco Sales, Inc. started the Thanksgiving Dinner tradition. We wanted to create a way to help those in the Dover community who find themselves in times of need around the holidays.

“Thanksgiving is such a meaningful holiday to many of us because it represents a gathering of friends and family in which we together celebrate our ‘thanks’ with a special meal,” said Jeff Roemer, president of Blue Latitudes Restaurant. “This dinner is special to so many as we say thank you to this great community.”

“Although this event is only one day a year, it’s our mission to bring the meaning of Thanksgiving to those who may not otherwise be able to have the experience of a traditional Thanksgiving meal with family and friends,” said Mike Steinberg, CEO & owner of Relyco.

This event is made possible - and grows year after year - due to the generosity of the Dover business community. This year, the donors listed below helped raise $14,000, of which 100% goes directly to providing the meal and gift cards for the 300+ Thanksgiving dinner guests.
